The current Public Information Officers are Officer Bill Storment and Captain Kate Novitsky. Arrest for possession of marijuana and solicitation of a minor - Monday, March 16, 2015

Gallatin police arrested 53 year old Brian Kirkham AKA Uncle Brian, on Saturday, March 14, 2015 for simple possession of marijuana and 3 counts of solicitation of a minor. The victim in this case is 15 years old. The victim reported to police, that she and Uncle Brian had been exchanging sexual text messages over the phone and she was able to lead Investigators to his home. Kirkham also lured her to his home through the text messages. The suspect was interviewed during the investigation and sufficient information was learned to make the arrest on Saturday. Kirkham was charged with 3 counts of solicitation of a minor and is out on bond at this time.

Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy - Friday, March 13, 2015

The Gallatin Police Department is pleased to report the graduation of two new officers from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy. The graduation ceremony was held at the Academy on Friday morning March 13th at 11 a.m. in Donelson. The two officers are Officer Jamison Pryor and Officer Jaime Zubieta. Chief Don Bandy states “These officers are to be commended for their accomplishments and for representing our City and the Gallatin Police Department with excellence and professionalism.” GPD wishes to congratulate all of the graduating officers. Following graduation, they will undergo 14 weeks of training with a Field Training Officer, adding to the ranks of our Patrol Division.

2015 Sexual Assault UPDATE - Friday, March 06, 2015

Gallatin Police have made an arrest in the sexual assault that occurred on February 28, 2015 at a local business. The suspect entered the store where he asked for assistance from a female employee. While she attempted to help him over about a ten minute time span, the suspect allegedly touched the employee numerous times in an inappropriate manner. The suspect was identified after receiving information from a concerned citizen. The suspect, 48 year old Charles Massey of Gallatin, was picked up and questioned on Friday where he confessed to the inappropriate touching of the employee. He has been charged with three counts of sexual battery and placed in the Sumner County jail. The photo below was taken from store surveillance video showing the suspect.

Alleged Sexual Assault - Tuesday, March 03, 2015

Gallatin Police need assistance from the public in identifying and locating a male subject wanted for questioning in an alleged sexual assault that occurred on February 28, 2015. The suspect entered a local business where he asked for assistance from a female employee. While she attempted to help him over about a ten minute time span, the suspect allegedly touched the employee numerous times in an inappropriate manner. The suspect is a heavy set white male in his 40’s to 50’s. The photo below was taken from store surveillance video showing the suspect.

Stolen FedEx package - Thursday, February 26, 2015

On 02-25-15 at approximately 2:50 pm officers responded to an address on Long Hollow Pike, in reference to a stolen FedEx package. Victim described the white male suspects as 18-21 years old, medium height and medium build. Victim took a photograph of the suspects’ vehicle. The vehicle is a Dark Blue two door Ford Explorer with aftermarket wheels.
