A day on patrol - Thursday, September 01, 2016

Today while I was at the Lock Four Park, 2nd boat access/ramp, I saw a gold mini van pull into the park. Both side doors were opened and the two front doors opened as soon as the van stopped. Five kids and three adults exited the van with the kids having large Aldi grocery bags in their hands. As I watched the group of kids and adults getting out of the van, I noticed that the kids started walking around picking up trash from the common areas and then an adult collected the bags and threw them in the trash can. After the park area was cleaned the kids started playing in the water and playing with the two small dogs that they had brought with them. I approached the adults and told them thank you for what the kids had done for the community and then all the kids came so I told them that GPD really appreciated what they had done for the community.

Chief Don Bandy, having heard what Officer Spray witnessed, asked the family to stop by the police station where he presented them with commendation letters and gifts on behalf of the Gallatin Police Department. Ms Jen Kuhl is from Hendersonville and the children were Jaxson Kuhl 13yo, Rowan Kuhl 12yo, Halen Kuhl 8yo, Brennan Wilson 10yo and Bryson Austin 8yo.
