Investigations

Officers assigned to the Investigations Unit work on hundreds of investigations each year in the City of Gallatin. From murder investigations to check fraud, sexual assaults to purse thefts, investigators work with and support the investigations that are initiated by officers in the Patrol Unit.

The Investigations Unit is currently supervised by a Lieutenant. The Lieutenant supervises approximately four investigators and two civilian employees. The investigators are assigned to specific shifts so that investigators are on-duty during the hours when most major crimes occur. On occasions when an investigator is not on-duty when a major incident occurs, investigators respond on an emergency call-out basis.
